The New Room

Way back in March, after deciding that we would probably be living in our current house for awhile longer, we decided it was time to remodel our big Family Room.  It had wallpapered, wood-paneled walls and cottage cheese ceilings which have been bugging me my whole life.
We moved all of our furniture into the front living room which had previously been used as mostly a big storage room.  Once we got it in there we decided that we liked it and instead of moving it all back into the family room when it was done, we decided to turn the new room into a bedroom for Jared and I.   This freed up our room so that each kid could have their own room.
New window frames.

The project, like most home-improvement projects, ended up taking way more time and money than we expected.  Jared did all of the work mostly in the evenings after work.  This was hard on the whole family since I was on my own at night.  It took a month of working every evening and then another to finally finish up.  There were a lot of unexpected obstacles (electrical problems, non-standard door openings, etc) but Jared got it done and did a great job.
Here we are on one of the daily trips to Home Depot.

Some of the best parts are the new, pretty walls and ceiling, two new windows, new french doors, beautiful frames around the windows, it's a beautiful room.

 We like it.
